The Best Places To Buy Bone Broth, Break A Sweat, Buff Your Nails And More In Dallas

The independent beauty and wellness industry will descend upon Dallas from May 13 to 16 for the second BeautyX Retail Summit and third Indie Beauty Expo Dallas. To identify places worth checking out in the city, we tapped some of the most plugged-in Dallas dwellers to share their favorite beauty, wellness and culture spots in the North Texas metropolis.

Jaleesa Howard, beauty And lifestyle influencer

Dallas-based influencer Jaleesa Howard works with big-name beauty brands like Fresh.

Credo

Located in Plano’s Legacy West shopping center, Credo is a gem for finding your favorite clean, non-toxic beauty products and discovering new ones. There’s a treatment room in the back where you can get a relaxing Tata Harper lunchtime facial. They’ll even help you clean your beauty shelf through their recycling program, and you can schedule a Clean Beauty Swap to find the best products for you based on your current routine.

Jade & Clover

If you have a green thumb, Jade & Clover is a great spot to add to your list. I love popping in to plant a new succulent or cactus, and see what’s new on their shelves for beauty and wellness. While I typically go to the nursery nearby to pick out plants, I appreciate the customization and assistance that Jade & Clover offers. It’s so much fun to do with friends and family to add extra oxygen to any space.

Pink Pedi

This nail salon is truly one of a kind and the first of its kind here in Dallas. I’m a huge bath sizzler junkie, so I absolutely love the fact that you can select a handcrafted one for your pedicure soak. Even the sugar scrubs and body butters are made in-house for a complete nontoxic experience.

The Juice Bar

They have a handful of locations in Dallas, but I’m always near the NorthPark Center location. I’ll usually grab an açai or pitaya bowl, or grab a few shots for the road—the Hot Shot is perfect for relieving my allergies when I’m on the go.

Moon Rivers Naturals

They’re actually located approximately two and a half hours outside of Dallas, but Moon Rivers Naturals is based in Tyler, Texas. I discovered their products while visiting one of my favorite boutiques in Denver a few years ago and fell in love. Whenever I’m passing through Tyler, I’ll stop by their shop, but it’s also super convenient and quick to either stop by local shops like West Elm, Jade & Clover, Koneko Studio or to order from them online since they’re fairly close. The Coconut Milk Face Wash and Aloe Rosemary Hand & Body Soap are totally worth trying out.

Fitish

Started by well-loved Dallas radio personality, Jenna Page Owens of “The Kidd Kraddick Morning Show,” Fitish is a program that promotes fitness while still maintaining a balance in the rest of your life. I started following along when Jenna expanded the brand to skincare infused with CBD. For a lot of people, the star of the show is the Cool Down facial mist, which has received rave reviews from people treating anything from post workout redness to acne and eczema. My personal holy grail of the brand is the Don’t Sweat It setting spray which takes me through a long workday, dinner and cocktails without my makeup budging in the Dallas heat better than any other name brand out there.

MYX Blend Bar

MYX Blend Bar opened recently in West Village and allows you to create your own customized lipstick or lip gloss from cruelty-free and nontoxic ingredients. I chose the Butter Base Lipstick because of the soothing ingredients, but they have a list of options ranging from more tinted chapstick to long lasting matte bases. After perfecting the color down to the undertones, you can also include additives in your formula like sunscreen, lip plumper or moisture. MYX tops off every lipstick or lip gloss purchase with a free lip scrub.

Glotrition

Created by fellow Dallas local, Lisa Pinieiro, Glotrition offers a powder collagen drink mix that has Verisol Bioactive Collagen Peptides, hyaluronic acid, biotin, and antioxidants. They have two local labs that work on getting us results like a 65% increase in collagen production in 60 days. The drink has natural fruit extracts and is sweetened with stevia to give it a delicious fruity flavor. Glotrition has also developed the Age Defying Topical Serum to complement the collagen drink and increase results.

Glotrition
Dallas-based Glotrition’s products include Collagen Glo Advanced Skin Powder and Age Defying Topical Serum.

Eleven Wellness

Eleven Wellness offers a wide variety of treatments including facials, laser services, botox and other injectables. I started going to Alison Tohlen about six months before my wedding switching between chemical peels and the custom facial to make sure my skin was smooth and stress-acne free on the big day. It worked like a charm. They also have an IV bar that you can utilize while receiving your treatment which is a hydrating and time-saving bonus.

District Climb

I have tried to love every group cardio class under the sun and, unfortunately, had not found one I loved until District Climb. This studio uses VersaClimbers, so you are climbing while engaging your arms, core and legs for 30 minutes with motivational instructors and energizing music in the background. I noticed a positive difference in the number of steps I was able to do with every class. Plus, the way the machines are built, there is no hard impact on your knees, joints or hips.

Christian Craven, Style Blogger

Skincare and style blogger Christian Craven splits his time between Dallas, his hometown, and New York City.

Magnolia Sous Le Pont

A gorgeous quiet place to grab a delicious cup of espresso and grab a perfect Instagram photo on their patio.

Dallas Contemporary

Always different, always free, the Dallas contemporary is a hot spot for creatives from around the world in Dallas. Its current exhibition features Self Service, Twenty-Five Years of Fashion, People and Ideas Reconsidered.”

Mi CoCina

If you’re wanting some famous Texas Mexican food, MiCocina in Highland Park Village is a must. Its beautiful atmosphere in the center of luxurious highland park makes for a true Dallas experience.

Deep Ellum

The Deep Ellum venues and coffee shops boast about hosting artists like Nirvana, MAC Miller, Halsey, Dua Lipa, Charli XCX, all before they hit it big in the mainstream. As you walk the streets, you may get a sneak preview of tomorrow’s biggest stars!

Klyde Warren Park

In the heart of downtown Dallas, Klyde Warren makes for a gorgeous evening walk with views of the whole city, highway included. Grab a snow cone or iced coffee from one of the park vendors and enjoy the Texas sunset.

Formula Wellness Center

So excited that Formula Wellness Center just opened in the West Village area selling collagen, charcoal and mushroom coffee drinks. In addition to coffee, there is a bone broth bar and to-go Formula Foods. Now, I can get my caffeine and collagen in one delicious beverage. Formula Wellness Center is also a medical practice run by a husband-and-wife doctor team that provides workout and diet solutions, supplements, injections, detoxifying IV Infusions and bioidentical hormone therapy. All of this in addition to healthy coffee, bone broth and food.

Milk + Honey Spa

A couple months ago, the Austin-based Milk + Honey debuted its first new spa location in the DFW area located at The Shops at Clearfork. It is such an indulgence to be able to spend a full day there, where you can treat yourself to a face or body treatment in one of their 14 treatment rooms and, then, get a blow out in one of eight salon chairs and finish your day of pampering at one of their 4 manicure and pedicure stations.

I especially love that Milk + Honey is a champion of clean beauty, using organic, nontoxic ingredients whenever possible in the construction process of their beautiful spas and in the brand’s own line of hyperclean and effective bath, body and skincare products. A specialty massage focused on the lymphatic system is my favorite way to spend some quality me time. Rumor has it that a location at Highland Park Village will be the next addition to the family. Amazing!

Milk + Honey
Milk + Honey currently has five locations in Texas. In five years, its goal is to have 20 to 30 locations across the country.

Grit Fitness

Grit Fitness is one of my favorite places to work out because it is about total wellness instead of losing weight or fitting in to a dress. It is so much more than just a fitness studio. Owner and founder Brittani Rettig had a vision of creating a culture surrounded by community, female empowerment, mental health and self-confidence. I love the fact that before every single class there is a meet and greet, and everyone is encouraged to meet two people they do not know. After class, they have happy hours and workshops that have nothing to do with fitness, but about being happy, confident and social.

Follain

Follain opened a beautiful store located on Knox Street right next to the Apple Store. I was once told it is all about location, location, location. Seems to be the case based upon the number of people I always see shopping this highly-curated collection of products that have all been vetted by their team to make shopping for clean beauty not at all complicated. I love being able to look at one category and compare what is available. For example, if I am searching for a new face oil, Follain has already curated a small selection of what they feel are the best oils available that are clean and effective. The experience is so highly-curated and educational.
