Med-Spa Chain SEV Laser Grows To Over 50 Locations Nationwide With Accessible Pricing Approach
SEV Laser, a med-spa concept specializing in laser hair removal, has more than doubled its geographic footprint.
In the past year, the chain has expanded into eight new markets, including Orlando, Phoenix and Boston, and it has increased the number of locations 67% since January 2024. SEV Laser, which now has over 50 locations nationwide, has grown its client base 42% year-over-year. While SEV specializes in laser services, its menu extends to injectables like Botox and fillers and body contouring treatments. Prices for laser hair removal run from as low as $15 to as high as $800, depending on treatment area and package type.
The med-spa industry is booming. The number of medical spas in the United States jumped from 8,899 in 2022 to 10,488 in 2023, according to the American Med Spa Association, and the U.S. med-spa market was valued at $6.9 billion in 2024 and is expected to hit $28.2 billion by 2034, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 13.65%, per market research firm Novaoneadvisor.
Acquired by private equity firm Levine Leichtman Capital Partners in 2023, SEV isn’t alone in expanding its reach. LaserAway and VIO Med Spa are examples of med-spas providing laser services that have grown to more than 130 and 50 locations nationwide, respectively. Last year, VIO Med Spa received a majority investment from private equity firm Freeman Spogli. In five years through 2023, $3.1 billion in private equity capital poured into med-spas. Still, private equity only controls about 10% of the market, per the American Med Spa Association.
At SEV, founder and CEO Sevana Petrosian says, “Our mission has always been to make aesthetic treatments approachable and inclusive. In just the past year, we’ve launched nationwide SkinPen microneedling, laser facials and a new cosmetic-injections program to further our goal of making aesthetics more accessible.”
Petrosian credits SEV’s momentum to changing consumer attitudes about beauty and the brand’s no-pressure approach. “Expectations around beauty have shifted in a really liberating way,” she says. “People are embracing treatments not to ‘fix’ something, but as part of feeling good in their skin. It’s become more about maintenance, comfort and confidence than perfection.”

SEV’s accessibility extends to pricing and promotions. The company has introduced transparent location-specific pricing—for instance, SEV discloses online that full-body laser hair removal is $659 in San Francisco and the same service is $609 in Frisco, Tex.—and a free lip flip for first-time clients. That’s driven four times the average daily intro offer bookings per location and cut cost-per-acquisition by 87%.
“We believe so strongly in the quality of our treatments that we invite prospective clients to try us for free,” says Petrosian. “Right now, we offer three trial treatments: a complimentary laser hair-removal session, a free laser facial and a Botox lip flip so people can experience the SEV difference firsthand.”
Petrosian expects the introduction of SkinPen, the first United States Food and Drug Administration-cleared microneedling device, to become a cornerstone of SEV’s service menu. “SkinPen is a vital piece of creating the right treatment plan for people of all skin types—from those looking to tackle active acne to those simply wanting to age with grace,” says Petrosian. “Its versatility makes it an essential option in building personalized, long-term skin strategies.”
She notes that the treatment fits the growing preference for effective, low-downtime procedures that deliver visible results. She says, “Just like our laser and injectable services, SkinPen delivers noticeable, high-quality results without requiring extensive maintenance, helping clients maintain healthy, glowing skin with minimal effort.”
“Our mission has always been to make aesthetic treatments approachable and inclusive.”
Currently available in SEV’s largest markets, including California, New York, Virginia, Texas and Massachusetts, SkinPen will roll out to additional locations in 2026. “We don’t launch anything unless we know it can make an impact from day one,” says Petrosian. “Because of that, we tend to see immediate adoption and category growth.”
In 2010, Petrosian opened her laser hair removal practice in a small hair salon in Glendale, Calif. Three years later, she opened a second location and christened it SEV Laser Aesthetics. While competition in the med-spa space intensifies, Petrosian says SEV’s commitment to transparency, inclusivity and consistency keeps it distinct. The company also emphasizes flexibility by offering single sessions or memberships in addition to the industry-standard packages for clients to choose what works best for them.
“Transparency is truly at the heart of the SEV experience,” she explains. “We believe beauty should be accessible and empowering—not mysterious or intimidating—and that starts with being completely open about pricing.”
As SEV continues to expand, Petrosian envisions the company evolving into a broader aesthetics wellness platform. “Our focus is on delivering integrated treatment plans that promote skin health, spark confidence and empower our clients to be the best versions of themselves,” she says. “Our holistic innovation strategy goes beyond individual treatments, supporting overall well-being and beauty in a way that truly resonates with our clients.”
