Cryo-Inspired Luxury Skincare Brand Ameōn Picks Up Steam At Retail

Ice-centered skincare range Ameōn has skated into its first retail partnerships.

The 3-year-old brand has launched on Neiman Marcus’s website and at the department store company’s locations in Beverly Hills, Dallas, Short Hills, N.J. and Coral Gables, Fla. The brand has also made its United Kingdom debut by launching at Sephora UK.

Both retailers have picked up Ameōn’s core collection of five products: $90 Baby Buddha Calming Serum, $95 Aurora Glow Serum, $85 Holy Cream Diamond Moisturizer, and two ice cube-shaped offerings priced at $55 each: Glow Manifesto Frozen Essence and Supreme Energy Frozen Essence. Neiman Marcus added the brand’s Radiance Set, Retreat Set and Deluxe Ritual Set, which includes all five products.

For fashion lover Alina Mehrle, founder of Ameōn, Neiman Marcus is a dream retail partner. “Neiman Marcus is a realm of elegance and enchantment,” she says. “It offers a curated selection of brands that captivate my heart. Its magical and immersive retail experience is a testament to the thoughtful and exquisite taste that defines luxury.” Mehrle continues that the retailer has a “vibrant community united by a shared lifestyle and passion for exceptional brands,” making it a perfect fit for the purpose-driven Ameōn.

That purpose behind Ameōn is rooted in a breast cancer diagnosis Mehrle received at 30 years old. The architect and founding partner of interior design firm Asthetique was waylaid by the diagnosis and resulting double mastectomy in 2018. A side effect of chemotherapy is hot, flushed skin, especially on the face and neck, and after several rounds of chemotherapy, Mehrle noticed that her skin was left depleted, dehydrated and fragile. As she sought to bring her skin back to health, she felt compelled to create a skincare brand.

Mehrle spent two years developing Ameōn’s products and what it calls its “cryoritual,” a nourishing regimen packed with minerals like copper and magnesium designed to restore and rejuvenate the skin. The brand’s bestsellers are Frozen Essence Glow Manifesto Ice Cubes, followed by Holy Cream Moisturizer and Radiance Set. Mehrle declined to discuss Ameōn’s sales and growth rate.

Face cold plunges that involve people dipping their faces into bowls of ice water first thing in the morning have been a trend on TikTok recently, but Mehrle says the practice of face icing goes back centuries and that Ameōn’s formulas further the benefits of the practice. She emphasizes that the process of massaging ice cubes on dry clean skin is critical.

With Ameōn’s products, Mehrle says, “It’s a strong combination of active ingredients applied in a skin icing way. The blood vessels constrict and then dilate, pulsing all these nutrients and ingredients into the skin cells. It helps everything penetrate deeper, and you see results faster. When you’re doing a Frozen Essence massage, it helps all other skincare products, so it’s perfect with other clean beauty brands. It helps all other products penetrate deeper and deliver results faster.”
