BeautyIndependent.de Launches In Germany For Full-Throttle Support Of Beauty Entrepreneurs

Sprechen sie deutsch? Beauty Independent does. This week, the Indie Beauty Media Group officially launched BeautyIndependent.de, a German-language counterpart to Beauty Independent that will champion beauty entrepreneurs in Europe with original reporting, community building, and the support of Douglas, one of Europe’s leading premium beauty retailers. It’s all part of the global advance of independent beauty, and a natural extension of IBMG’s European presence following the establishment of its London and Berlin Indie Beauty Expos.

Under the careful direction of Juliane Lein and Tamara Sedmak, IBMG’s lead representatives in DACH, the acronym referring to Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and guidance of Beauty Independent’s editorial team led by Editor in Chief Rachel Brown, BeautyIndependent.de burst out of the gate with a stockpile of articles assembled by the talented editors and writers Kelly Niesen, Marie Hein, Julia Herzog, Jana Ackermann and Katja Kupka. The articles offer a uniquely European spin on the indie beauty phenomenon, and cover everything from green and sustainable trends, investor attention and growth strategies for emerging brands.

Douglas is the launch sponsor of Beauty Independent Deutsch. Thanks to the generosity and hard work of the retailer’s team, content on BeautyIndependent.de will be free of charge for the first two years.

“Beauty Independent offers not only a unique network for young beauty entrepreneurs, it also provides aspiring beauty brands with a public voice. By cooperating with IBMG and Beauty Independent Deutsch, Douglas brings this voice to the DACH region and supports indie brands entering the German-speaking market. We want to give founders the opportunity to present their ideas to a larger audience and thus, strengthen the European indie beauty market overall,” said Douglas Group CEO Tina Müller.

The site already includes Expert Dialogue features spotlighting Invincible Brands CEO Will Shuckburgh and PR mavens Janina Hell and Felicitas Karrer of Berlin-based agency Hell & Karrer; inside looks at the launch of “die cleane Kultbrand” Milk Makeup in Germany and the Jamie Oliver of beauty, Anita Bechloch; breakdowns of financing options for growing brands; and five rising oral care brands establishing new standards abroad.

“We were thrilled when Indie Beauty Expo came to London, and then Berlin,” said Christopher von Hallwyl, co-founder and managing director of ascending haircare brand IKOO. “Having a German-language Beauty Independent dedicated to the DACH market is just as exciting. We look forward to the website creating a sense of community among independent beauty brands in Europe and providing us with a strong voice and platform.”

With IBE Berlin and a German-language news platform, IBMG is paving the way for European and non-European brands to expand their reach in a key global market. The German-speaking consumer in multiple countries comprises one of the largest and strongest demographics on the continent. “Tamara and I couldn’t be more pleased to develop these initiatives in DACH,” said IBMG’s Juliane Lein. These markets have been—and remain—a major hub of innovation. They’ve given birth to so many brands that are now household names around the world, and we’re eager to help continue that trend!”

Committed readers who register with BeautyIndependent.de will be treated to a thrice-weekly email newsletter that ensures their understanding of the fast-paced world of innovative beauty. “Beauty entrepreneurs are transforming the industry because they are much closer to today’s consumers and tomorrow’s—they share the same values,” said Nader Naeymi-Rad, publisher of Beauty Independent who co-founded Indie Beauty Media Group with beauty entrepreneur Jillian Wright. “It was exactly for these newcomers that we wanted to create an ecosystem that would meet their needs and support them at every stage of their career—from the very first idea to the potential exit. We do it with our expos, our BeautyX Summits, and now with Beauty Independent in Germany.”
